Elemental
Waterway 1 & 2, 2022

Hand-woven rugs of mixed fibres. Wool and silk weft on cotton rug warp, 155 cm x 68 cm. These rugs are very soft. Twisted fringe finish.

This rug is featured in Shuttles Thrown: 75 Years of Weaving in the Guild of Canadian Weavers.

This weft faced weave, alternating two weft yarns in a modified basket weave, creates an effect of vertical stripes visible in wider horizontal bands, from variegated yarns mixed with solid colours.

Elemental
Fire 1 & 2, 2023

Hand-woven rugs of mixed fibres, some handspun by me. Wool, alpaca, angora goat, and cotton, on hand-dyed cotton rug warp, 155 cm x 68 cm. Clean hems with warp ends woven in.

The Fire rugs use the same red/orange/yellow warp but with different weft yarns, came out with different tones: both are red, with one leaning more rose, the other more orange.
