Breathing Art
It has been many moons since I last wrote, and I note — that post in November 2025 talked about my 10-year contemplative experiment in durational practice—Sky Project—which culminates in film and cloth.
In a sweet sense of parallel alignment, I write today (which happens to be my birthday) to tell you: I will be honoured to lead a breathwork and meditation event at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in ten days. This event is a collaboration between Mosaic Yoga Studio and MOCA, and it will be an interaction with the subtle, durational, interdisciplinary work of the artist Kimsooja, Dimensions of a Needle. There is film, there is clay, there is cloth…
Kimsooja’s philosophy engages with ‘non-making’ and ‘non-doing’ which is a gorgeous invitation to engage with the essence of presence — to draw inspiration — with resting minds in our ever-changing bodies being breathed. As Kimsooja transforms simple materials through acts of sewing, wrapping, and care, we can consider the unseen threads that connect bodies, breath, environment, and awareness. Move softly among the Moon Jars filled with metaphorical breath, cloth and needle, transformation and connection.
